Kristiyan, known on Fiverr® as Crslaytor, does professional video editing. He found Fiverr as a buyer, not realizing at first that it would change his life, enabling him to move home and be his own boss. Here he is to talk about his Fiverr journey.
About me
I am originally from Bulgaria but was living and working in the UK for more than five years. As a foreigner, I always missed home and tried to find opportunities to go back and visit. And I was always looking for the perfect job that would let me travel home, or anywhere else in Europe, and still work online, freeing me from any one location.
In the meantime, I worked 9-to-5 at a computer café in London and often worked night shifts and weekends. It was not the best situation for someone turning 25 years old. I felt tired, and busy London was not the best place to relax.
Then I found Fiverr
I actually started on Fiverr as a buyer. I needed promo videos done for the computer café, and for the price of $5, I was very happy with the results. I decided to offer my own Gigs®. Since I’d done video editing for more than five years, it was easy to decide on the Gig I wanted to offer.
Once I started selling on Fiverr, it all happened like a dream. The first week, I sold one Gig for $5. Then I got two Gigs a week, then five a week, and eventually five per day. I suddenly realized I was earning minimum wage from Fiverr. It was the moment I had been waiting for for five years. I decided to quit my full time job: no more working night shifts, no more working on the weekends, no more having the boss call me to fix something! Instead I was able to travel anywhere I wanted to go while still working on Fiverr.
Now I am back home in Bulgaria and am happy to be my own boss. I live with my lovely girlfriend, who helped me a lot with my first Fiverr projects. We also live with the first dog I have ever owned. Currently, 100 percent of my income comes from Fiverr, and the last few months I have been able to invest in my new offline business, doing aerial videos with multicopters. I have also been able to renovate my house, including getting new appliances and upgrading my computer technology, all thanks to Fiverr!
Advice for newcomers
I often get asked about how to succeed on Fiverr. My recommendation is one word: consistency. You sit down, you answer all your messages as soon as possible, you do your best to understand what your client needs, and then you do your best to do it! If you do that consistently, the success will be come.
The impact of Fiverr
I cannot overstate how important Fiverr is to me. It changed my life. Now I love the work I do, and I work whenever I feel I am most productive. I love waking up in the morning, walking the dog on the beach, and enjoying my coffee while I go through my inbox messages. It has required a lot of hard work, but this is truly the best time of my life, and I appreciate how very lucky I am to be here. Thank you Fiverr!
