Read on to learn more about Paolo, why he would “die for beauty,” and why you should hire him for your next design need via Fiverr.
Tell us a little about yourself. Who you are, where you’re from, what you do on Fiverr Pro.
I was born in Montebelluna, Italy. I’ve always been passionate about drawing, ever since I was very young. I remember that my history notebooks were filled with portraits of the great kings from the books. All the titles were small calligraphy works made by my inexperienced hands. After high school, I decided to follow this passion and I joined the IED in Milan, attending the Art Direction course. I chose advertising because I love the idea of combining design and psychology. After graduating from university, I started working at agencies in Milan where I could refine my style, and there I came to understand what I like the most: branding, creating something new, and giving a face to a product or service. It hits the eyes and minds of people who are standing in front of something that inspired them – taking the unknown and turning it into a necessity. For about a year and a half, I’ve been in London where I work as a freelancer. On Fiverr, my offerings are mainly related to the world of branding: logos, stationery, and posters.
What motivates you as an entrepreneur? Why do you do what you do?
Working as a freelancer gives me the ability to fully express myself. I love what I do because it’s the perfect balance of art, psychology, and marketing. When it comes to design, there’s more to it than meets the eye. Yes, it’s visually striking, but more importantly, designers have the power to help people to reach their business goals.
How did you get your start? Is Fiverr Pro your full-time Gig, or just a side hustle?
When I moved to London, I took a freelance job and never looked back. Today, I work with personal clients (half of which were acquired on Fiverr) and agencies that call me for advice and collaborations. Half of my personal clients are from Fiverr, that gave me a real boost of work.
How have your skills grown since joining Fiverr Pro?
Fiverr has given me the opportunity to work with a lot of different people, different cultures, and different styles. I’ve learned how to articulate my thoughts and ideas more clearly and collaborate with customers. While we may not always agree on the style or design, the overall goal is always the same, and that is to succeed.
Tell us about some of your favorite projects.
My favorite project was a logo that I created for the youngest entrepreneur that I’ve ever worked with, an 8-year-old boy. With a little help from his father, he was launching his own skateboarding and snowboarding lifestyle brand – Genius Sk8 + Snow. I found his drive and ambition to be very inspiring.
