Lauren’s happiest when collaborating with fellow doers on creative projects—which made her the perfect subject for Episode 1.3 of our video series #MeetThePros! Get to know Lauren in the interview and video below, and then team up with her for your next design or branding need on Fiverr Pro.
Tell us a little about yourself. Who you are, where you’re from, what you do on Fiverr Pro.
I’m Lauren, a designer by trade and storyteller at heart. I currently live in New York City where I work as a designer/art director for an advertising agency. I specialize in branding and content creation, but I like to sneak in my passion for illustration to enhance my projects. On Fiverr Pro, I design logos and logotypes for businesses, but I also provide custom graphic design requests like infographics and business cards.
What motivates you as an entrepreneur? Why do you do what you do?
I’ve been fortunate enough to work with big-name clients over the years. However, my favorite projects come from partnering with smaller brands that are open to creative collaboration. Being an entrepreneur allows me to form more of a partnership with my customers where our direct efforts result in a collaborative outcome. I love hearing the personal stories and motivations from the customers themselves and helping them manifest that story into something beautiful, visually.
How did you get your start? Is Fiverr Pro your full-time Gig, or just a side hustle?
I began my career in broadcast working for MTV Networks – that’s where I fell in love with dynamic, out-of-the-box, and sometimes zany ideas and creative. From there, I dipped my feet in other disciplines like UI and Social Media. Fiverr Pro is my side hustle now and allows me to keep some autonomy over my work. I get to take all the experiences I’ve gathered into my own business which empowers me to see the customer’s story from all angles and find the best way for graphic communication.
How have your skills grown since joining Fiverr Pro?
At Fiverr Pro, you get to work with people from all industries and walks of life. It has enhanced my flexibility and adaptability when it comes to brainstorming different ideas with customers; one day you could be making logos for a tattoo shop and the next day it’s for office supplies. The variety is exciting and keeps your mind sharp.
Tell us about some of your favorite projects or clients.
My favorite project was working with Fiverr to come up with an infographic for their small businesses report. What made it my favorite project is the collaborative process that took place. The Fiverr team is very knowledgeable on design needs and deliverables – they communicate their objective very clearly and value the designer’s input as well throughout the project. Thanks to that, we delivered the final product earlier than expected with both parties very satisfied. [Attach PDF]
What impact has Fiverr had on your life? Has it changed the way you approach your profession/career?
Not only has Fiverr Pro helped me with launching my own career and reputation, I’ve been able to come in contact with so many great individuals. Whether it be small business owners or the team members at Fiverr, everyone is so eager and passionate about what they do. It’s really taught me to put extra compassion and deliberation into communicating with your customers – to treat everyone you work with like a partner or teammate. The journey and process throughout a project can be just as rewarding, if not more so, than the end result.
