Sometimes when your Gigs are simple, or if you have a lot of clients, it can feel pointless to over-deliver on your promises. However, if you go above and beyond in a natural way, without forcing it, can help bring you future business, and at the very least will earn you happy customers who are more than willing to leave a glowing review.
One of our sellers, anarchofighter, discovered the positive impact that over-delivering can have and the importance of doing so in an organic way. In his experience, it’s not about promising X results and delivering a set amount higher than that consistently. Rather it’s about taking the time to assist your customer in a tangible way.
In this instance, anarchofighter offered a small piece of advice based on something he noticed on the client’s website. The advice wasn’t necessarily related to the service that he was providing, but it helped the client improve their site and it enticed them to continue working with anarchofighter even beyond that first Gig.
Over-delivering doesn’t need to mean spending a ton of time or even effort in fishing for a positive review. What it does mean is taking the time to notice and to relate to your client’s needs.
How have you over-delivered for your clients and what kind of impact did it have? Tell us in the comments!
