Does this sound familiar?
You enjoy doing something and you do it well. People tell you should do it for a living. You struggle to identify the best way to make a living doing what you love, however, until you discover Fiverr and realize dreams really can come true. A seller account and multiple sales later you are grateful you took a chance and are working to make your dreams become a reality. But like all dreams, they often come with some unexpected surprises. In your case, possibly this means not enough sales to make your dream a full-time job. Maybe it means gaining some unsatisfactory customer reviews – something you definitely aren’t proud of. Or possibly it means not doing enough of what you love and simply wanting to gain more customers so that you consistently stay busy.
Whatever your dreams are, whatever your reality is, consider how you can improve upon them to gain more customers. After all, more customers will translate into more sales. No more dreaming, folks. It’s time to wake up. Let’s make your dreams become a reality by gaining more customers.
Seek Insight From Past Customers
Past customers can be the glue to your business or the thorn that tears your business apart. You see, past customers can either speak highly of your work or shred your work apart with just a few simple clicks and choice words. The way they do this is testimonials – and like them or not, you need to recognize testimonials as a key strategy in your customer relationships.
Testimonials are completed once a Gig has been completed. This automated opportunity for buyers is a perk to them as well as perk to you – but only if you are confident your performance of your job completed was delivered at 110%. Communication, project quality, delivery turn-around and more will impact your testimonial, so it’s vital that you consider every step of your production an important one so that you can almost guarantee yourself a strong testimonial. With this also means gaining more customer attention because as your testimonials strengthen–including five-star reviews–your customers will strengthen and increase, as well.
Become Transparent In What You Offer
While positive testimonials and five-star reviews will always help you gain customers, there is another way that can help you achieve this same goal. Transparency is a tool too few sellers use, and yet when used effectively it can help you gain more customers and more sales.
When it comes to selling a service, transparency is critical because it allows you to easily and effectively communicate with potential buyers what it is you can do for them. The key is recognizing that what may seem obvious to you is likely not obvious to your customers. The number one reason for this is that they are looking to hire someone else to complete a task they have already identified they do not want to. Keeping this in mind, you need to put yourself in their shoes when writing descriptions for your services, offering images to help you market your work and providing explanations or next step directions to lead them to the final outcome of their project request. Your support is critical in delivering not only a quality experience when working with you, but also a quality experience in delivering the right service they are seeking. Transparency can help you do this.
Suggest More Services
Consider rewarding your customers with the opportunity to gain more from you without them even knowing they need more from you. Provide suggestions for additional services and offer examples from past clients or completed projects so that they can clearly understand what is they may not know they need. These add-on services add up – and as a result, so does your customer loyalty and sales.
The competition is tough out there, but you can stand out from the competition if you address the realities of your audience head on. Aim to understand who your customer is, stand in their shoes in an effort to communicate with them and offer services that exceed customer expectations. Complete these tasks with stellar customer care and you’ll be on your way to standing out among the competition… and making your dreams come true.
