Today, Fiverr turns 5. In these last five years the company, the marketplace, and the vibrant community have grown tremendously.
Fiverr started with a simple question: what might the Future of Work look like?
We thought it could be so much more. More entrepreneurial. More creative. More fulfilling. More flexible. And more rewarding.
So we set out to build a simple and intuitive platform to help enable that future — a marketplace that would allow entrepreneurs to grow their talents and follow their passions — earning money doing what they love.
This vision resonated particularly well with younger people, who were not only faced with one of the worst job markets in the last century, but who saw technology as a natural extension of every aspect of their lives.
A community of sellers grew up around the Fiverr platform, with entrepreneurs eager to share knowledge and ideas. But as more sellers came onboard, we soon realized that this spirit of passionate entrepreneurship transcended generations, cultures, and borders.
In the last five years, the Fiverr community has grown to become as big and diverse as anyone could have ever imagined.
You are students honing your talents while paying for college. You are mothers and fathers supporting your families while staying closer to them. You are seniors sharing your lifetime of skills. You are adventurers funding your worldwide travels while you build your careers.
I personally want to thank you for taking this journey with us. We have amazing plans for the next five years. Let’s take the journey, together.
