Fiverr Sellers Recreate Olympic Uniforms for Rio 2016

The Olympics have wrapped up with historic accomplishments aplenty. From Usain Bolt’s run into the record books to Michael Phelps’ continued dominance, Rio was full of grace and power in motion.

Visual elegance didn’t begin in Brazil with the athletics either. At the Opening Ceremony athletes from across the globe showcased designer wears tailored to their specific country, meant to capture not just the Olympic spirit, but national pride.

Over the years, Olympic Uniforms have been designed by some of the top names in fashion, including Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Stella McCartney, Armani, and Levi Strauss.

But why should just a few select groups get to take all the Olympic fun? Fiverr represents an international community; one built by doers from each corner of the world. With that spirit in mind, we asked 10 Fiverr artists to reimagine the Opening Ceremony uniform for their home country. Sellers from countries including Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Indonesia, Ireland, Malta, Romania, Venezuela, Ukraine and the United States all joined in to illustrate how their national identity could be wrapped into stylish designs for their top athletes.

You can view all the artwork for the campaign below, along with the seller’s name.

The artists included elements from their countries’ national heritages within their work, like the shamrock and Celtic imagery in Ireland’s uniforms and Aboriginal influences within Australia’s.

Showcasing our massive global community while bringing out the best of Fiverr’s artists in the spirit of the 31st Olympiad gave us a chance to flex our creative muscle, and we were excited by the results.

Now, we are asking you to redesign your country’s Olympic uniform and share on Twitter and Facebook. Our favorites will be featured here, share using #FiverrDesignGames!
