2014 is almost over, and what a year it has been. It’s time to reminisce about this years top 10 moments in pop culture. What were the moments that made us laugh, cry and not stop talking about. In usual Fiverr® fashion, we have a creative twist – local Fiverr talent madmoo has illustrated these moments in her signature style – cappuccino art.
10. The Kick
There is no better moment to ‘kick’ off this countdown than with the famously filmed moment Solange lashed out at brother-in-law Jay Z in an elevator. While we watched Beyoncé pull them apart, we couldn’t help but think – who really cares?!
9. Ice Ice Baby
You couldn’t look at a screen this summer without staring at countless friends and celebrities pouring ice water over their heads. Even team Fiverr got in on the action. The real winners? ALS research, as they had a record year of donations exceeding $100 Million.
8. iWant
Apple shocked nobody as they revealed the brand new Apple Watch. The product only hits stores in 2015, so while experts estimate consumer demand, we will simply ask you… are you going to buy one?
7. Cats and Dogs
One of this year’s most shared YouTube video also happens to be one of the sweetest. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch the ‘hero cat’ save this boy from a dog attack.
6. Super Seahawks
This may be sensitive to some, but it needs to be included. The Seattle Seahawks manhandling of the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII was an unexpected outcome for a game that was supposed to be evenly matched.
5. No Spoilers
After nine seasons of How I Met Your Mother, Ted Mosby’s monologue finally drew to a close. As is often the case with long-running series, there was some dissatisfaction with its conclusion. While we were left thinking, “eh!”, we would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
4. Let It Go Already!
Although the animated film opened late in 2013, it had every kid, parent and YouTube cover artist hooked throughout 2014. And who can forget John Travolta’s perfect pronunciation of “Adele Dazeem” at the 2014 Oscars.
3. Break the Internet
Love or (more likely) hate her, you can’t dispute the fact that Kim Kardashian knows how to make headline. She did just that in November this year with her now infamous Paper Magazine photoshoot. We can go on, but the internet has had enough.
2. Robin Williams (1951 – 2014)
Robin Williams, one of the funniest men to ever live and one of the best actors of a generation died. He was 63 and is survived by his wife, three children, and some of the best films of the last four decades.
1. Let’s Be Happy
And finally – Pharrell Williams has lots of reason to be happy this year. The producer-rapper-singer gets an Oscar nomination for Happy on the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack. A week later, he wins four Grammys. If that wasn’t enough, he has released hit after hit since, is a coach on The Voice and has had many successful collaborations with the worlds biggest brands.
So, there you have it. Our top picks for 2014.
Now there is only one thing left to do, fill up your cup and let us know your top picks below.
