Now she can be your British or Scottish voiceover artist and record professional voicemail greetings. She will even work with another voiceover artist for double the talent. Here she is to share her story.

Congratulations Jules, our latest Super Seller!

Jules’ Fiverr Journey

I live in a little East Yorkshire village near York and have worked in radio for 20 years both with the BBC and independent local radio. For the past six years, I’ve been working as a brand manager for a global medical company while working as a voiceover artist in the evenings and on weekends. Having recently invested in a home studio to do more voice work, I wanted to find a way to expand my customer base.

I first heard about Fiverr from a good friend, Chris, an accomplished voice actor and audio imaging producer who was already on Fiverr. Chris had only positive things to say about Fiverr and was very happy with the amount of work he was getting. He encouraged me to look into setting up my own voiceover Gig®. When I checked it out, it all seemed relatively straightforward. It was exciting that Fiverr is an international company because 90 percent of my existing customers were UK based.

I looked at other successful voiceover artists, researched what they were charging for different services, and decided on my own fees.

I scripted my Gig video, voiced it, produced the short video advertising my services, and sent it for approval that same evening. It was approved within 24 hours, and I was “live” less than 12 hours after that. I got my first order and I haven’t looked back since.

I earned Level 1 within about three weeks, Level 2 four weeks later, and was promoted to Top Rated Seller after about six months. At first, I averaged three to five orders a day. Now I sometimes have 17 orders in my queue to work on.

I can’t believe the amount of work I’m getting, and I love the way I’m building my voiceover and audio production business via Fiverr.

Advice for Newcomers

I think it’s important to start small to see what kinds of customers are attracted to your services and what their needs are. I was increasingly asked about extra services I could provide, such as backing music, sound effects, reading to time, etc., and this was my inspiration for creating my Gig extras and other Gigs. Using any unusual talents as a base for new Gigs is a good idea – it’s important to stand out. Research sellers offering similar services and try to offer something they don’t.

It’s also important to price your services fairly and go above and beyond to satisfy customers. I think the main reason I’ve grown my business so quickly is my dedication to making sure my customers are happy with their end product and my willingness to work with them and be accommodating to their needs. Whether their order is $5 or $250, I give everyone the same level of service.

The Impact of Fiverr

Fiverr has had an amazing impact on my life and my family’s life. It’s improved my confidence as I’m running my own business now and that’s helped with so many other things. I’m also earning a lot more money and improving all the time and gaining experience in different areas of voice work.

Crownjules and her mum

At the moment, I use my Fiverr money to re-invest in my business. I upgraded my speakers, my studio computer and my portable studio computer. I bought a better mixing desk, two fantastic microphones, and I buy royalty free backing music for my clients.

Most recently, I hired my mum to work with me a few days a week to handle the inquiries, the admin side and the feedbacks.

It leaves me more time to do my client work, and she reduced her hours at the shop she works in to work with me, something we’re looking to increase.

I’m also saving for a house deposit and will be able to buy one much sooner than I expected, all thanks to Fiverr. Hopefully, one day I’ll give up the day job and use Fiverr as my sole source of income. I couldn’t be a bigger advocate of this platform and the opportunity it brings. At every financial milestone, usually another $5,000 or $10,000, I mark the occasion by giving my friend Chris, who encouraged me to start using Fiverr, a REALLY nice bottle of red wine!
