We recently launched Gig Packages in key subcategories across the Fiverr marketplace. As we continue to open up the Packages structure in more categories, we want to share some of our initial results.
Before we jump into our results, let’s revisit some of our goals for Gig Packages:
- Improving communications across the marketplace
- Making it easier than ever for sellers to grow their businesses
- Creating a better buyer experience
So, how are we doing? Let’s take a look.
Better communication
In the past, those buying on Fiverr sometimes found it challenging to understand the scope of a Gig, or to get exactly what they need from a seller within a basic Gig offer. Sellers, meanwhile, faced challenges responding to a high volume of questions from buyers about the details of the services they offer.
We tasked ourselves with creating a way to present the services bought and sold on Fiverr in a new format with clearly defined options. We intended for the new format to streamline communications between those shopping and those selling on Fiverr, minimizing the back-and-forth communications before an order.
Gig Packages aim to clarify any confusion surrounding what is included in a service and to make it instantly clear to buyers the options they have to consider.
The Results:
Our initial results show that Packages are making it easier for buyers to understand the services that are offered on Fiverr. Buyers can take a quick look at the Gig Packages and easily understand what’s included. In fact, using Gig Packages can reduce cancellations by 10%.
Bigger opportunities for sellers
One of our biggest goals for Gig Packages is giving a framework for sellers to make more revenue and increase their order value in a way that would be attractive and clear to buyers as well.
Packages give sellers the ability to offer their services at higher prices, and they also give sellers more control than ever over their deadlines by letting them set different delivery dates for each level of service provided. This saves time and promotes efficiency, while encouraging sellers to price their Gigs at more than $5.
The Results:
Sellers that use Packages increased their revenue by 8% and had an 18% increase in the average selling price of their service.
Improved buyer experience
What goes into any great online shopping experience? Having appealing options. Getting exactly what you need at a price that’s right. Receiving your order on-time, as expected.
We envisioned Packages as an opportunity to give all of those things to buyers. The three-tier structure of Packages gives buyers distinct options to choose from with a range of prices and clear deadlines for each level of service provided.
The Results:
Packages are indeed improving buyers’ experience on Fiverr, by increasing understanding about the scope and deadline for each option offered. We anticipate seeing an improvement in on-time deliveries in the near future.
