Here at Fiverr, we’re always looking to add new features to make selling your services easier than ever. Today, we’re rolling out Order Additions.
The new Order Additions feature is a terrific new way that allows our seller community to offer additional services (upsell) to a buyer after a Gig has been already ordered. Order additions can include additional quantities of the basic Gig, existing Gig Extras, and even Custom Extras to accommodate a buyer’s specific needs.
This new feature gives any seller the flexibility to better support existing customers while providing the opportunity to increase revenues and Average Order Value . It can also earn better reviews and reduce the number of Gig cancellations.
Here’s a perfect scenario where Order Additions can be applied to upsell a Gig:
A buyer has ordered a voiceover of your slideshow Gig. While producing it, you realize that given the content of the slides, some background music would enhance the power of the presentation. If you have background music as a Gig Extra, you can easily offer it to the buyer. Even if you don’t have background music as a Gig Extra, you can still offer it as a Custom Extra.
Here’s how to offer an Order Addition:
- On the Gig active order screen, below the message box, click on the plus sign next to “Offer More Extras”
- Click on the additional service you wish to offer.
- If you are offering a Custom Extra, click the checkbox and enter the fee and the additional time required.
- Use the message box to explain why you are offering the order addition. For Custom Extras, be sure to explain exactly what you will deliver.
- Click on the Send button.
- The buyer will receive the offer and just has to click the Order Now button (sellers should continue working on the original order regardless of buyer canceling or accepting the Order Addition.
- The additional purchase will automatically update the delivery time.
- Sellers can also withdraw their offers (only before a buyer accepts the offer).
Please note that offering Extra Fast as an order addition is not currently available.
Like many new Fiverr features, Order Additions is designed to be a win-win for both sellers and buyers. Buyers get a better product, while sellers get to earn more money. Give order Additions a try and tell us if you were able to upsell your services.
