As I’ve been running online businesses since 2004 and working in SEO since 2002, I know all about outsourcing. It’s a simple fact that my online business would be struggling if it wasn’t for all of the great freelance contractors that have helped me out. While I’ve used numerous outsourcing marketplace websites, my go to source is definitely Fiverr®.
Here are some of the ways that Fiverr has helped my online business:
Freeing Up Time
One common trend with all my online businesses is that I always seem to have so much on my plate. There is just always so much work to do. There’s no way I would be able to stay on top of all of it on my own. Buying Gigs® from Fiverr, my time gets freed up to work on other important tasks. The saying ‘time is money’ is certainly true in online business.
Focusing On My Strengths
While I could take the time to learn how to do everything from design to programming to video, it’s not the best use of my time. Why would I waste time trying to be a jack of all trades but a master of none? Instead I can hire someone on Fiverr to help with those tasks where I am less skilled. In most cases they specialize in that area and have far more experience than I’d ever gain. They’re obviously going to do better work than I could hope to do. In the meantime, I can focus on the areas where I am more skilled and are most important for my business.
Finding Reliable Help Easily
One of the major problems on other outsourcing websites is that there are loopholes for contractors to inflate their feedback ratings. On one website, contractors simply cancel a project if they are going to get bad ratings. On another, contractors actually have the ability to hide feedback ratings. On Fiverr there is nothing to hide and no loopholes. You can see a comment about every client’s experiences and see an overall rating. If someone is providing lousy service on Fiverr, it’s pretty easy to tell based on ratings.
Scalable Projects
While $5 is an awesome price to pay for a service, there are times when the work required is a bit more than that. Sometimes it’s just more time consuming or you need it delivered on a rush basis. A lot of projects on Fiverr have Gig Extras, which fill this particular need. Even if I’m paying the extras it’s still cheaper than anywhere else.
Now let’s look into some specific tasks that I’ve had great success with buying on Fiverr.
Logo Design
Whenever I launch a new website or redesign an existing site, one mandatory step is jumping on Fiverr to order a logo. With some designers charging much more than I have budget for, the logos I order are incredible value and quality work.
Here’s an example of work I received from a Fiverr logo designer. This is the current logo for Airline Miles Experts.
Video Production
Who would’ve thought that I could get a quality video starting $5?! If I hadn’t seen it on the homepage, I’d have never thought to even look. So I’ve used a range of video producers from Fiverr to help with marketing projects and I’ve always been impressed with the quality.
Social Media Promotion
Depending on what I’m marketing there is sometimes a need to get some extra exposure through social media marketing such as Facebook and Twitter. Via Fiverr I am able to pay to help me spread my message and it’s done quickly.
Programming Help
Usually hiring a programmer will cost you $20+ per hour and it can be tough to find someone reliable. So what do you do when you have a small task such fixing a wordpress issue or making your code W3 compliant? Yes, you hire someone from Fiverr.
Now that is just a small sampling of the kinds of tasks I get done on Fiverr. I’ve hired contractors for all kinds of other tasks, but due to the nature of my business this is the stuff that I’ve needed help with periodically.
A different business could benefit greatly from a completely different set of tasks that they could effectively outsource on Fiverr. That’s the great thing, there’s something for everyone here.
